‘I will give you rest, come’ (Matthew 11: 28–30)
‘I will give you rest, come’ (Matthew 11: 28–30) was the theme of the 2026 World Day of Prayer, which was marked at Sandy Methodist Church on Friday 6 March.
Students from Sandy Secondary School attended the service, which was led by members of the four churches in the town.
Together with readings, songs and prayers, we heard stories from four Christian women in Nigeria who inspired us to work towards a world free from injustice, insecurity, marginalisation, religious persecution, poverty and despair. They revealed how, as we trust in God, our Burden Bearer, we become one body in Christ, receiving rest to the world.
