Jodie Brown
A Life of Service
Revd Jodie Brown is the Rector of St Swithun’s, Sandy. Growing up in the nearby village of Gamlingay, Jodie first sensed a call to ordained ministry at around eleven years old — a quiet but persistent sense that God was inviting her into a life of service, joy, and justice.
She trained for ministry in Birmingham, where she also served her curacy. Her time there shaped her deeply, strengthening her love for preaching and her commitment to the belief that the gospel has the power to transform lives. “It certainly changed mine,” she often says — and that conviction continues to guide her ministry today.
Exploring Faith
As a mother of a toddler, Jodie brings both personal experience and deep passion to her ministry with children and young people. She delights in helping people of all ages encounter the living God and in putting faith into action within the community. Her preaching centres on God’s joy and God’s justice, holding together hope, compassion, and the call to see the world made new. She believes that mission is not something we create, but something we join: looking attentively for what God is already doing and stepping into it with faith.
Alongside her role in the parish, Jodie loves meeting people from all backgrounds and walks of life. She warmly welcomes anyone who is exploring faith, returning to church, or simply curious. Her hope is that together, as a community, we continue to discover more and more of the depths of God’s love.
