A Local Ministry Team (LMT) is a group of Christians, some lay people, some clergy, who work together to serve their local Church and Community.

Team Members undergo study and training to help them in their tasks. They commit to meeting regularly to plan their work and to support one another.

A Mandate from the Bishop authorises the Team’s Ministry.

Who makes up the Sandy LMT?

The newly mandated  Local Ministry Team are: Andrew Barber, Jackie Barber, Florence Bignell, Janet Mackenzie, Maureen Munro, Rani Singh, Brian Marshall, Jennifer Sutcliffe, Barbara Champion, Doreen Lawrence  and Derwyn Williams

Sandy Local Ministry Team Mission Statement:

TRUSTING IN GOD, and supported by the prayers of the Church, we believe that we are called to accompany people throughout their journey of life, especially: following requests for baptism, during bereavement and as we grow together in faith.

What does the Sandy LMT do?

The Team has been mandated to offer ministries of Christian Nurture and Teaching.

Run quiet mornings for the Parish.

LMT members run  Exploring Christianity Groups for people interested in learning more about Christianity, leading to Confirmation classes.

LMT members also run Bible Study sessions throughout the year.

The LMT is also there to visit people in pastoral need. Especially, we offer support to people who have experienced bereavement, whether recently or further back in the past.

At each Team meeting we ask ourselves how our ministry should grow and develop, according to our Mission Statement.

Why is this form of ministry important?

Because God calls ALL baptized people to minister together as the Church. The ministries of the laity and clergy are different, but of equal importance.

An LMT is a visible demonstration of how ministry can be a collaboration. We hope this culture of ministry will spread wider and wider throughout the Church.

Now there are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.

I Corinthians Chapter 12 verses 4-6
